Local industry offers career opportunies for academics
The programme covered a wide range of topics. The EURAXESS bus provided young researchers with advice on how to apply for jobs throughout Europe, while the Maison du Savoir hosted a series of presentations and round tables, which included introductions of career opportunities in the Luxembourg industrial and public research sectors. In the afternoon workshop sessions answers were offered to the question: ”what a researcher needs“, and the research-career fair highlighted actual job offers.
University of Luxembourg and EURAXESS: similar targets
According to Barbara Daniel, International Relations Specialist of the EURAXESS Service Centre Luxembourg, there are several good reasons for the University of Luxembourg to organise the EURAXESS event in the Grand Duchy: ”As an international, practially-oriented university, our mission is similar to that of EURAXESS. Cooperation such as this helps us reach our goal of continued excellence in research which will help drive the new, innovative Luxembourg.“
